The project is aimed at strengthening the capacity of education authorities to manage and organize departments, by facilitating collaboration with other relevant stakeholders.
For example, it aims to harmonize education policies, implement new curriculum structures, strengthen quality assurance and standards systems, as well as improve tests and assessments across the country.
“This support shows the EU’s continued commitment to the recovery of Somalia and its people. It is a symbol of change in sustainability and leadership. We applaud the cooperation between education authorities and their commitment to gradually manage education services in the same manner, ”said H.E. Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, EU Ambassador to Somalia.
The Minister of Education of the Federal Government, Abdullahi Godah Barre, said: “Our country has great potential and very good people. We are excited about this project because it will help us to develop these opportunities, enhance the educational opportunities of the country and welcome the actors in this area to shape the future of Somalia. ”
The director generals of Southwestern state education ministries, Hirshabelle, Galmudug, Jubbaland as well as the director of education for the Benadir regional administration participated in the launch of the project.
